Result-filled competition days with the young fencers of the University Fencing Club
The young fencers of the University Fencing Club once again delivered outstanding performances at the recent fencing competitions, returning home with numerous results. The youngest competitors tested their skills in Kisbér at the AvEnGarde GPII Autumn Cup, while the adult fencers competed successfully in Baja and other tournaments. These events reflected not only the technical development in fencing but also the strengthening of team spirit. The achievements rightly commend the hard work of the fencers and their coaches.

The competition series began in Kisbér, where the AvEnGarde GPII Autumn Cup took place. Our youngest competitors showcased their skills here and performed exceptionally well. Sára Reich
, with fantastic fencing in the Törpici B group, claimed the top spot on the podium and returned home as the first-place winner. Sára's achievement reflects not only her dedicated effort but also the excellent preparatory work of her coach, Dóra Kasolyné Dékány. Congratulations to both her and Sára on this great result!

The young competitors also performed admirably and gained valuable experience. Félix Bohanek finished in 21st place, while Manga Illés secured 32nd place. In this age category, beginner and advanced fencers compete together, posing a significant challenge, yet both stepped onto the piste with hard work and determination. The experience from this competition will aid their future development, and we are confident that they will soon return with even better results.
As the competitions continued, the University Fencing Club's large team once again celebrated together as István Csizmazia secured 1st place in the recreational men's épée category. Following his victory at the most recent Friday Cup, István delivered another outstanding performance, earning his rightful place on the top of the podium. It is always a joy for the University Fencing Club when our fencers achieve such excellent results, and everyone shared in the pride of István's success. Congratulations to him and his coaches for their exceptional preparation!

The VII Dr. Pósta Sándor Memorial Tournament in Baja also brought many great results. In the women's épée category, Borbála Neogrády-Kiss finished in 7th place, while Zsófia Nádor-Virág concluded the competition in 24th place. Both athletes demonstrated their dedication and progress by competing in close matches, showing that they are capable of achieving increasingly better performances based on their past experiences. Although they did not make it to the podium this time, the experience gained and their development are undoubtedly promising for the future.

The competitions not only provided results but also enriched the athletes with community experiences. The team spirit of the University Fencing Club is always strong, and it is evident in every competition that the athletes support each other and work together for success. The competitive spirit and the power of the community provide motivation that helps young athletes continue to grow.

Autumn Cup in Kisbér: Welcoming Young Fencers!
On November 9, 2024, Kisbér will host an exciting event, the Autumn Cup, featuring Törpi, Children's, Youth, and Recreational categories. The venue is the Zsivótzky Gyula Sports Hall, a location renowned for numerous sports events, providing an excellent environment for young fencers.
This cup presents a unique opportunity for young fencers to test their skills and gain experience in a competitive setting. The purpose of the Autumn Cup is to encourage young athletes to improve their technical skills, bravery, and competitive spirit. The University Fencing Club Team Returns Home from Dubai
The Veteran World Championships in Dubai concluded on October 17, 2024, where the University Fencing Club's proud representatives gave their best. The competition brought together fencers from all over the world, and although the Hungarian team returned without a medal, they demonstrated that perseverance and courage truly pay off.

The Dubai competition was special in that it provided veteran fencers with an excellent opportunity to share their experiences. Competitors became part of a community bound by a shared love of fencing, not only on the piste but also among fans and other participants. For the members of the University Fencing Club, this was more than just a competition; it was an experience that deepened their dedication to the sport.

Although the team couldn't reach the podium this time, their honorable performance and the sportsmanship they displayed are truly commendable. Veteran World Championships – Dubai – October 11-17, 2024
From October 11 to 17, 2024, the Veteran Fencing World Championships will take place in Dubai, and the University Fencing Club's veteran competitors will proudly participate. This prestigious event offers experienced fencers from around the world the opportunity to showcase their skills and compete at the highest level. It also provides an excellent platform for Hungarian fencers to demonstrate their talent on the global stage.

More Successes on the International Stage
The U13 fencing competition held in Zagreb in September was truly a memorable event for the young competitors of the Egyetemi Vívó Club. The club's talented athletes, Zsófia Nádor-Virág and Zétény Balatoni, delivered fantastic performances, finishing just off the podium in 5th place.
During the competition, the young fencers showcased excellent technique and determination. While the podium was not within reach, their placement is certainly commendable. Thanks to their preparation and the support provided by their coaches, the young athletes fought confidently against the best.
The Egyetemi Vívó Club is proud of this achievement, which not only celebrates the hard work of the athletes but also reflects the club's community spirit and the dedication of its coaches. Following the competition, Zsófia and Zétény's experiences will not only influence their future competitions but also serve as motivation for other young fencers.

EVC Veteran Fencers Excel at the Balaton Cup in Siófok
The Balaton Cup, held in Siófok, once again highlighted that fencing is not just a sport for the young. The veteran fencers of the University Fencing Club delivered outstanding performances, proving that age is no barrier in sport. Competing under the banner of the University Fencing Club (EVC), Boros Péter is remarkable not just for his age, but for his lifelong dedication and commitment to the sport, which serves as an inspiration to us all.

During training sessions, children learn how to channel their energy, maintain focus, and thrive in a dynamic, challenging environment.
At the University Fencing Club, we focus not only on the technical aspects of the sport but also on building a community where children can make friends, work together, develop, and support one another. Our training sessions are enjoyable, and our coaches develop each child at their own pace, taking into account individual needs and abilities.

Training Times and Location
Training sessions are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, making it an ideal choice for an after-school activity that is both fun and developmental. The sessions take place in Hungary's oldest active fencing hall, located in the heart of Budapest, between Astoria and Ferenciek tere, on Semmelweis Street. This historic hall is equipped with the most modern fencing gear, providing children with the best environment to learn the fundamentals of the sport.
The fencing hall is easily accessible by public transport, making it convenient for parents to drop off their children on their way home from work. The nearby M2 metro, 47 and 49 trams, and several bus lines ensure quick and easy access to the location.

ELTE Rector and Dean's Office Leaders Visit the Fencing Hall
A special day in the life of the University Fencing Club took place when the leaders of the ELTE Rector and Dean's Office visited us to get a closer look at the world of fencing and gain insight into the daily operations of our club. The purpose of the visit was for the leaders to see firsthand how our training sessions are conducted, the professional work carried out by our coaches, and to understand the values that fencing, as a sport, represents.
During the visit, the leaders had the opportunity to observe a training session where, under the guidance of our experienced coaches, young athletes performed various technical and tactical exercises. Our guests particularly appreciated that fencing not only enhances physical fitness but also develops mental readiness and quick decision-making.

The leaders of ELTE were also given a detailed overview of the role fencing plays in university life. Fencing not only prepares students for competitions but also offers opportunities for recreational activity and community building. At the end of the visit, the guests had the chance to try fencing themselves, experiencing firsthand the beauty of the sport.
This visit further strengthened the relationship between ELTE and the University Fencing Club, helping to promote fencing more widely as one of the best sports within the university.

Great Results from the EVC Team at the VIII Komló Cup Recreational Fencing Tournament
The University Fencing Club's enthusiastic team represented itself at the Komló Cup recreational fencing tournament with excellent performances.
