House Rules

HOUSE RULES

The unified house rules established by the University Fencing Club regulate the rights and obligations of fencers and their parents attending training, as well as provisions related to the training schedule. These house rules serve as a legal framework governing the daily operations, interactions, and situations arising during training.

The house rules comply with all relevant regulations and do not contradict any legal provisions.

Compliance with the house rules is mandatory for all participants, including students, coaches, instructors, and staff members ensuring the smooth operation of training sessions.

I. PUBLICATION OF THE HOUSE RULES

The house rules take effect from 01.12.2024 and remain valid until revoked.

All applicants receive the house rules at the time of registration, at least in electronic form.

The house rules are displayed in the following locations:

  • On the University Fencing Club website (www.egyetemivivoclub.hu)

  • In printed form, posted on the wall of the University Fencing Club training room

II. RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS OF TRAINING PARTICIPANTS

Rights of training participants:

  • Participants have the right to have their personality, human dignity, and rights to family and private life respected. If a participant feels that their moral integrity has been violated, they may seek assistance from the coach or any club official.

  • Participants have the right to address any club official regarding disputes, inquiries, suggestions, opinions, or issues requiring assistance.

  • Participants have the right to express their opinions about the operation of the training sessions, the club's life, and the performance of the instructors, provided that their expression does not violate others' dignity.

Enforcement of rights in training sessions:

  • Rights become effective upon entering the training facility and from the beginning of the session.

  • In case of personal grievances, participants may submit a written complaint to the club's management, requesting a review. The complaint must detail the issue with supporting facts and data. The management is obligated to respond within three days, either in writing or verbally. In case of legal violations, the participant or their legal representative may submit a Legal Compliance Request to the club's management.

  • Participants have the right to have their data handled and stored securely by the club. The club's data protection policy is available on its website.

Obligations of training participants:

  • Participants must respect the dignity and rights of the club's management, staff, and fellow fencers.

  • Participants must exercise their rights without infringing upon others' rights or hindering their ability to exercise their own.

  • Participants must familiarize themselves with and adhere to the house rules upon entering the training facility.

  • Participants must take care of the training equipment and facilities, using them as instructed. Any intentional damage must be compensated.

  • Participants must protect their own and others' physical integrity and health by following safety, accident prevention, and fire safety regulations.

  • Participants must immediately report any hazardous conditions, activities, or accidents affecting themselves, fellow fencers, staff, or others to the responsible trainers.

  • Participants must compensate for any intentional or negligent damage caused to the training facility, equipment, or furnishings.

Failure to comply with obligations may result in disciplinary action or proceedings against the participant.

Items Allowed in Training:

  • Participants should avoid bringing valuable personal belongings as the club is not responsible for their safekeeping.

  • Dangerous items, including substances harmful to health, drugs, weapons, or weapon-like objects, are strictly prohibited. Exceptions apply to fencing equipment and tools required for its maintenance.

Liability for Damages:

  • Participants are responsible for the property and premises of the training facility. Any damage caused (whether intentional or accidental) must be compensated. The club's management will document any damage in an official report.

  • If a participant causes damage to the facility unlawfully, they must compensate for it as per the assessed value.

Parental Rights:

  • Parents may visit training sessions by prior arrangement.

  • Parents may address questions, comments, or complaints to the coach or the club president.

III. TRAINING REGULATIONS

Equipment Requirements:

  • Participants must wear appropriate sportswear, including a short-sleeved shirt, long sports trousers, socks, and sports shoes.

  • Personal fencing equipment is allowed, but the club provides equipment when necessary.

  • Participants must follow hygiene protocols before training, including thorough hand sanitization.

  • Training is only allowed when in good health.

Use of Training Facilities:

  • Participants and staff have the right to use all training rooms and facilities properly and safely while maintaining cleanliness and order.

  • The club is responsible for sanitizing equipment and premises after each session.

Prohibited Substances:

  • Smoking, alcohol consumption, and drug possession/use are strictly prohibited within the training facility.

  • Alcoholic beverages are only allowed at events with special permission from the head coach.

IV. FIRE SAFETY REGULATIONS

Fire Protection:

  • Open flames are strictly prohibited throughout the training facility.

  • Smoking is strictly forbidden.

  • In case of fire, follow the "Fire Alarm Plan."

  • Passageways and exits must be kept clear.

  • Electrical equipment with faulty wiring must not be used and should be reported to the management immediately.

  • Power surges and tampering with circuit breakers are prohibited.

  • In case of fire, all participants must follow the instructions of the supervising personnel.

  • Any fire incidents must be reported immediately to the fire department (phone number: 105).

Fire Alarm Plan:

  • Ensure safe evacuation.

  • Evacuate the building according to the posted emergency plan.

  • Announce the fire loudly and notify club staff.

  • Start fire suppression immediately if possible.

  • Until firefighters arrive, all participants must assist in fire suppression and follow the instructions of the fire department leader.

V. ACCIDENT PREVENTION REGULATIONS

Health and Safety Rules:

  • The first step in accident prevention is compliance with house rules, fire safety, and accident prevention regulations.

  • Cleanliness and order must be maintained in the training facility.

  • Any dangerous situations or accidents must be reported to the trainers immediately.

  • Participants are prohibited from entering storage rooms, waste storage areas, electrical distribution rooms, or kitchen areas.

  • Outdoor playgrounds and sports fields must be used with caution and respect for others' safety.

  • Only healthy individuals are allowed to attend training sessions.

FINAL PROVISIONS

  • The house rules include fire safety and accident prevention regulations and apply to all participants, staff, visitors, and guests.

  • Serious violations may result in immediate expulsion from training by the head coach. In such cases, training fees will not be refunded.

  • Written requests for amendments may be submitted to the club's management, which will organize necessary modifications and obtain approval.

  • The house rules must be revised if:

    • There are legal changes,

    • The club's management, participants, and parents collectively request amendments,

    • The governing body mandates modifications.

  • If an issue arises that is not covered by these house rules, applicable laws will be followed.

Participants and their legal representatives must acknowledge and accept these house rules by signing.
