The First Fencing Training Session

24/10/2024

To start fencing, there is no need for a significant financial investment right away, as comfortable sportswear is enough for your first training sessions. If you're just getting acquainted with fencing, simple workout gear such as pants, a t-shirt, and sneakers will be perfectly suitable. At the University Fencing Club, we provide an opportunity for beginners to learn the basics without the need for personal equipment, so you don't have to worry about purchasing expensive fencing gear before your initial sessions.

However, when you feel that your interest in the sport is growing and you want to pursue fencing long-term, it's time to invest in your own fencing equipment. A full set — including the plastron, mask, glove, pants, and weapon — can be a bigger investment, but there's no rush. At the University Fencing Club, we offer the option to rent equipment, so you can decide at your own pace when you'd like to purchase your own gear.

Renting Equipment
Renting equipment is particularly beneficial for beginners because it allows you to try the sport and gain experience without needing to make a significant financial commitment right away. Once you're ready to move to the next level, you can buy your own gear while already feeling confident on the piste. Don't let the cost of equipment hold you back — starting fencing is easier than you might think!

Why is Proper Equipment Important?
Fencing is a sport that involves fast and dynamic movements, making the right equipment essential. It not only ensures safety but also helps fencers perform at their best. The gear used during training allows athletes to focus fully on their technique and strategy while being fully protected.

If you're ready to purchase your own equipment, the following suppliers offer a wide range of fencing gear, whether you're a beginner or a professional fencer:

  • PBT Fencing
  • Serco Sport Kft.
  • Allez Fencing
  • Leon Paul Hungary
